Greetings NCC Families!

To all our new NCC families, welcome to North Chevy Chase Elementary School! And to our returning families, we’re so excited to see you in a few short weeks.

NCC is a close-knit community with nearly 300 students and their families. The school has a terrific set of professionals, including 10 teachers and about 30 staff who help the school run smoothly – specialists, para-educators, front office staff, counselors, cooks, custodial staff, and of course, our wonderful principal, Ms. Kimbrue.

Your vibrant NCC Parent Teacher Association is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to promoting the collaboration and engagement of families and community in the education of our children. The NCC PTA works closely with staff to strengthen our community and enhance the educational experience for every student at NCC. The PTA organizes and funds the Back to School Picnic, family movie and bingo nights, Math Game Night, STEM night, teacher appreciation, and much more. We also fund some wonderful in-school programming, such as the Artists in Residence program, STEAM Day, The Big Draw, After School Achievers, and many other enriching opportunities.

Join the PTA – Your Voice Counts! Your PTA membership benefits your children and shows them that you are committed to their school and education. Membership entitles you to vote on PTA issues, determine how resources are allocated, and hold a PTA office. We welcome your membership and active involvement. You can join the PTA by visiting www.pay4schoolstuff.com to pay by credit card, or you can complete a membership form at the upcoming Open House and Back to School Night.  Note that the PTA membership dues must be renewed annually.

Volunteer. We have many exciting events planned for the year, but we cannot make them happen without your help. There are numerous ways to get involved and we hope you will consider volunteering for one of the positions we have open. This is a super fun way to get to know other families at NCC and learn what’s really going on at the school!

Donate. The PTA relies in the generosity of our families to fund the many programs we offer throughout the year. We’ll kick off our annual Feed the Bulldog Campaign in late August. Our giving target is $20,000 this year and we hope you’ll do what you can do to help us reach our goal. 100% of every dollar collected goes to enhance your children’s experience at NCC and is tax deductible.

Stay Connected. Don’t miss out on important messages! Here are the key ways the we share information:

  • NCC PTA Listserv – The NCC listserv is the best way for families to stay connected. Join via Yahoo for weekly emails highlighting news about the week ahead. https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/NCCNET/info?guccounter=1
  • NCC PTA Closed Facebook page – Request permission to join our closed Facebook page. The PTA updates this regularly with helpful news. https://www.facebook.com/groups/NCCPTA/
  • PTA Website – Visit NCCPTA.org for details on upcoming activities, PTA contacts, and other helpful information.
  • NCC Directory – NCC PTA works with A to Z Directories to produce a school-wide directory each year. Each member of the PTA gets a copy, which is a great resource that provides contact information for NCC families.

Please feel free to contact us with questions or suggestions. We look forward to a fantastic year!
