Direct Donation

Dear North Chevy Chase Families,

 

Your financial contributions to the PTA make a huge difference for our children.  As we begin the 2008-2009 school year, our financial situation is very strong and we have been advised to spend down some of our reserve.  So, while the PTA budget will be almost $50,000, we only need to raise $30,000 to cover our expenses this year. 

 

Here is how we propose to do it:

 

1.       We will not hold the Sally Foster wrapping paper fundraiser this year.  

2.     We will hold only three fundraisers:  the Book Fair, Election Day bake sale, and Silent Auction.    

3.     We will not solicit funds for classroom parties – the PTA will pay for these.  

4.     We will launch a Direct Donation campaign.  We believe this is a cost- and time-effective way to raise money for our school.   We are asking each NCC family to make a tax-deductible donation to the PTA, in the amount of $100, or whatever your family can afford.  If your family is in a position to donate more than $100, we ask you to consider doing so on behalf of a family who cannot.  

5.    Additional fundraisers, and the size and scope of the Silent Auction, will be contingent on how much money is raised from the Direct Donations.   If we can raise $18,000 from direct donations, then we won’t need to hold any other fundraisers for the year and we can have a scaled down silent auction (e.g. limited and targeted auction items, teacher donations).

 

Because of your generosity last year we were able to:

  • Provide our children enriching cultural arts programs and assemblies.
  • Help our teachers attend professional development seminars.
  • Fund student support including After School Achievers and the Geography Bee.
  • Sponsor community events such as International Night and Spring Fling that bring us closer together as a community.
  • Make our school grounds more beautiful by planting trees, shrubs and flowers throughout.

To make your Direct Donation, please fill out the Direct Donation form and return it ASAP with your family’s contribution.  If you would like to pay by credit card, simply fill out the form and then use the Network for Good donation badge to the right on the this page.
